“I have known Richard Slepian for as long as 20 years because of his extensive involvement in the Intraoperative Neurophysiological Monitoring (IONM) community. I am a twice past President of the American Society of Neurophysiological Monitoring (ASNM) and interacted closely with members, participants and vendors. I have found Richard’s honesty and integrity to be impeccable and without question. “

The quality of intraoperative monitoring varies dramatically from one provider to another and covers the spectrum from comprehensive to minimal standards for spinal and cranial surgeries. It is important to identify all appropriate waveforms and troubleshoot appropriately. When neurological responses fall outside defined limits, a well-trained Neurodiagnostic Technologist will identify whether the cause is surgical, related to anesthesia or some other etiology.

Levison Search Associates has been recruiting Neurodiagnostic Technologists for 15 years. Our goal is to identify, screen and present candidates who have the most comprehensive intraoperative monitoring skills available to ensure the highest level of quality outcomes. We target candidates who demonstrate knowledge and skills in the following areas:

  • Operating room protocol
  • Sterile technique
  • Operating table selection and setup
  • Sensitivity to strategic location of the Neurotechnologist station
  • Anesthetic variations
  • Surgical pathology and anatomy
  • Basic understanding of x-ray/CT/MRI images
  • Surgical instruments
  • Surgical procedures
  • Internal fixation devices
  • Monitoring modalities
  • Correlation of modalities to surgical procedure
  • Communications with Surgeon and Anesthesiologist
